Does this break PDF passwords I don't know?
No. This tool requires you to enter the correct password yourself. We do not crack, brute-force, or bypass encryption on files you do not own the password for.
Where does my password go?
Nowhere outside your browser. The password is used by pdf.js inside your tab to decrypt the file locally. We never transmit it.
Is the unlocked file lossless?
Pages are re-rendered at 2x DPI for sharp output. Selectable text may become rasterised; if you need to preserve a searchable text layer, ask your file's owner to provide an unencrypted original.
